OPERATOR PLEASE HEAT UP 2010 WITH THE RELEASE OF THEIR NEW ALBUM ‘GLOVES’

Everyone’s favorite Australian baroque-pop ™ collective, Operator Please, burst onto the music scene  in early 2007 with their addictive ‘Song About Ping Pong’, and their infectious debut album Yes Yes Vindictive. Aged only 16 they toured the world wowing crowds with their incredible presence and energy in Australia, Europe and Japan and found themselves supporting the likes of Bloc Party, Futureheads, Kaiser Chiefs and Arctic Monkeys.

Now they are back, all grown up, and with a remarkably sophisticated sophomore album, titled Gloves.

The band spent the last 12 months pouring their hearts into their work, self-producing the record at a farm near Australia’s Byron Bay, and in singer Amandah Wilkinson’s lounge on the Gold Coast, before mixing it in Los Angeles with long time No Doubt collaborator Jimmy Harry. ‘Gloves’ shows a fresh new direction for the band, a sound already turning heads as the first release, ‘Logic’, hits Australian and international airwaves.

The reaction at home in Australia was incredible, with national radio stations ripping and adding the track instantly after the band posted it on their myspace. Proving to be an instant hit there, ‘Logic’ - released in the UK last week digitally and limited edition 7” on Brille Records - has also been picking up attention here from Radio 1, 6 Music, XFM, MTV, NME and all over the worldwide web.

The album, ‘Gloves’ will be released on Brille everywhere outside of Australia and New Zealand on May 31st, preceded by the summery single ‘Back And Forth’ on May 24th. The album is already available for fans to pre-order via the bands website at www.operatorpleaseband.com along with exclusive goodies, including a limited edition cassette of bonus tracks.
